Merz’s statements followed in the middle of increased tensions across Europe. Several NATO allies, including Poland, Romania and Estonia reported air space violations, or NATO officials confirmed that some of them were Russian origin.
Moscow denied any injuries in Estonia, claimed that the incident in Poland was unintentional, and the Romanian charges rejected as Ukrainian provocation.
