Under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, organized by the Sarajevo Canton, Jubilary 30. Events “Selection of the Athletes of the Year of the Sarajevo Canton”.
The ceremony, which celebrates the sports success and achievements of the cantonal athletes, gathered numerous guests, athletes, trainers and sports lovers.
The ceremony opened the Minister of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton Kenan Magoda, emphasizing the continued support of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Talents. Among other things, the event was also attended by the chairman of the Assembly of HS Elvedin Okerić and his pronoun Danijel Kristić and Jelena Pekić.
– Every big result begins with a clear goal. The goal is what guides us, which gives us the strength to train and then when it is difficult, to sacrifice and let ourselves. But no goal is attainable without perseverance. Behind each trophy stands years of work, renunciation and discipline – said Minister Magoda, adding how success comes with the team support of the family, coaches and communities.
The President of the Sports Federation of Canton Sarajevo Sarajevo Samir Šarić pointed out the importance of cantonal athletes, who make up 80 percent of the sports results of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
– I’m proud of our athletes. The systematic and planned investment of the Ministry of Culture and Sports obviously brings results, which is confirmed by this year’s recognition – said Saric.
Prize winners for 2024. year are the most successful athlete – James Makash (Taekwondo); The most successful athletes – Nedžad Husić (Taekwondo) and Anes Bostandžić (karate); The most successful Junior -Benjamin Husić (Taekwondo) and the most successful Juniors – Ema Kurić (Taekwondo) and Maša Garić (Athletics).
The awards for the most successful coaches received Haris Husić and Alma Ćehajić Hadžović (Teams), while the most successful teams for 2024. year: Taekwondo Club Novi Grad (Men’s Team) and Sarajevo Sheet.
For top sports results were awarded athletes from different disciplines, including judo, karate, taekwondo, swimming, table tennis, kickboxes and parasport.
Special recognitions for contribution to sports were given: Aida Hadžić (Gymnastics) and Fuad Mešić (Athletics). For parasport development: Hedija Efendić and Huso Camo (Darts).
Branislav Montenegrin was proclaimed for the most trophy coach.
This event once again showed the strength and potential of sports in Sarajevo Canton, confirming its key role in the development of society. The Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Sarajevo Canton and the Sports Association of the KS remain committed to supporting athletes in achieving their dreams and goals, the Protocol Service and Press HPs.
