According to him, the truce, at least in the initial phase, would not refer to land struggles, but would ban the attacks from the air and the sea.
Macron also warned that it would be extremely difficult to ensure respect for this truce due to the range of the front line, which could be a major challenge for all parties.
He pointed out that European troops will not be arranged in Ukraine in the coming weeks.
Also, Macron emphasized the need to increase European military expenditures, proposing that EU countries should allocate between 3.0 and 3.5 percent of their Defense GDP, in order to respond to the changing priorities of the United States and the growing militarization of Russia.
He warned that Russia spent as many as 10 percent of their GDP in the army for three years and that Europe must be ready for future challenges that could occur in the coming years.
