A new coach on the Partizan bench, but the game and the result remained unchanged.
The black and white experienced another disaster in the Euroleague against Maccabi, which is their third consecutive defeat in the competition. Partizan was competitive for a quarter and a half, and by the end of the match it was only a question of which margin the visitors from Israel would celebrate with.
During the first quarter, both teams had a good shooting night. Partizan’s new basketball player, playmaker Cameron Payne, after a little less than half of the game in the first quarter, hit his third three-pointer and led Partizan to plus seven (22:15).
Marinković hit two more three-pointers, the sixth three-pointer in ten attempts for Partizan, while the guests shot five of 12 for three points and the score at the end of the quarter was 31:30 for the Belgrade team.
Joan Penarroya’s team played a very bad second quarter. As a result, they were active only until four and a half minutes to the end of the first half, and then the “Pride of Israel” series of 17:2 followed, so the score at halftime was 58:43 in favor of the visitors, and the fans sent their team to the locker room with whistles.
Partizan’s nightmare continued at the beginning of the second half, already after three minutes of play, Maccabi made a series of 12:2 with four three-pointers.
Oded Kattash’s team won the third quarter with a difference of 18 points, and the total score before the last part of the game was a whopping 92:59.
Partizan won the last quarter, but that doesn’t mean much, in the end a convincing 112:87 for Maccabi.
