Hundreds of people gathered in the port on the Greek island of Santorini in the early morning on Tuesday to board the ferry and went safely, while others hoped to fly away with additional flights.
From Friday every few minutes in the sea between Vulcan Islands Santorini and Amorgos in the Aegean Sea, numerous earthquakes are recorded.
Approximately a third of the 16,000 Santorini residents have temporarily left the island, the German news agency DPA reported.
Authorities closed schools to Friday and advised people to be kept away from coastal areas due to the danger of landslides and avoid gatherings indoors.
