Polish striker Robert Lewandowski (37) said that he is not in a hurry to extend his contract with Barcelona, which expires in June 2026. After that statement, there were soon speculations about his next step. According to the Spanish media, Fenerbahce and Milan stood out as the clubs most interested in bringing him.
Turkish journalist Sercan Hamzaoglu states that Fenerbahce is currently informally inquiring about the conditions under which Lewandowski could arrive in Istanbul. The club is reportedly considering the sale of Youssef En-Nesyri, who has a desire to move to Saudi Arabia, in order to free up space and funds for a potential transfer of the Polish striker.
According to sources close to the club, Fenerbahce could offer a contract for a year and a half, starting as early as January, until June 2027. However, official negotiations have not yet been initiated in order to avoid spoiling the atmosphere in the team that has been the champion of Turkey for 28 times.
On the other hand, Italian journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports for Sky Sport that Milan is also seriously considering Lewandowski as a possible reinforcement for the next season. The plan of the “Rossoneri” would be to bring him after the contract with Barcelona expires, so that the striker would arrive as a free agent.
According to the same sources, sports director Igli Tare should soon hold a meeting with Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi, to discuss possible financial terms of cooperation.
Lewandowski scored 42 goals in 52 games last season and has scored more than 700 goals in his career – playing for the Polish national team (87 goals), Bayern (344), Borussia Dortmund (103) and Barcelona (105). In the current season, in nine league games, he has already hit the net seven times.
