“We live on a very small planet. Raising the Berlin Wall and the conditional walls between us and our enormous European area, including the post-soviet union,” Lavrov said to meet students and professors of the Moscow State Institute for International Relations (MGIMO).
“We want to work honestly. And if our interlocutors are ready to the same equal and mutually respected basis – we are ready for dialogue with everyone,” the head of Russian diplomacy.
In his opinion, “This is clearly shown during the Talks in Alaska between President (Vladimir) Putin and (Donald) Trump.”
“The difference between this (American) administration and the previous floor (former president of the United States Joe) is, as well as many European so-called leaders, is that they are ready not only to listen, but also to hear,” Lavrov pointed out.
He believes that conversations in Alaska showed the understanding of President Trump and his team that all problems, including the Ukrainian crisis, can be resolved on the basis of respect for legitimate national interests of all sides. Lavrov explained that, when it comes to Ukraine, it means “troubleshooting causing this crisis”.
The chief of Russian diplomacy also reminded of the Putin’s forecast on the future multipolar world.
