Moscow offered mediation between the United States and Iran after US President Donald Trump threatened to bomb Iran if he did not reach a deal with Washington around his nuclear program.

His comments emphasized the balance that Moscow tries to achieve while tensions grow suddenly around Iranian nuclear activities.
Russia deepened ties with Tehran from the beginning of the war in Ukraine and signed an agreement on a strategic partnership with the Islamic Republic in January.
However, Russia is quickly moving in the renewal of relations with Trump administration. This shift upset Ukraine and European countries that are nervous because Trump could make deep concessions Moscow in order to end the conflict in Ukraine.
