Tickets from the newly created “fan level” price category will be allocated to national associations for individual matches in which their teams will play. By comparison, when the United States hosted the World Cup in 1994, ticket prices ranged from $25 to $475. At the last World Cup in 2022 in Qatar, prices ranged from $70 to $1,600 after it was known which teams would play in certain matches.
FIFA has received more than 20 million requests for tickets during what it calls a “random sales phase”, which began last Thursday, after confirming the schedule of matches that will be played in Mexico and Canada in addition to the US.
