Federation of BiH needs 870 million Euros in the next four years in order to meet its goals when it comes to construction of highways, FBiH minister for transport and communications Denis Lasic has said.
The plan is to have 70 percent of Corridor 5c completed by then.
FBiH has built 92 kilometers so far and plans construction of 32 new kilometers this year.
It has 240 million Euros already approved for this section.
But the problem is that FBiH has reached its limits when it comes to the new loans.
“To continue with the construction of the Corridor, i.e. to get new loans, we need to raise special excise tax on fuel from 10 to 20 pfenings per liter”, Lasic said in an interview with Fena news agency.
Money from this excise tax is used as leverage for loans of intentional financial institutions.
He said priority sections are those between Medjugorje, Pocitelj and Mostar, as well as Zenica bypass.
