Iran stocks of highly enriched Urani remained mostly untouched after recent American and Israeli attacks, European officials reported by referring to preliminary intelligence.
Two European officials told the Financial Times that 408 kilograms of Urania, enriched almost until the level of suitable weapons was not concentrated in the Fordow plant, one of the main enrichment facilities. Instead, they state that the stock is deployed to multiple locations across the country.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said that its inspectors lost a trace of inventories only five days after the beginning of the war. This amount of uranium, which can fit in one container and easily translate with a truck, is enough to produce ten nuclear warheads if Iran headed that way.
Before Israeli’s impact, Iran and the United States have led negotiations on limiting the Iranian nuclear program in exchange for sanctions.
After the end of the conflict, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Tehran was ready to return to the negotiating table.
At the same time, US President Donald Trump tries to deescale tensions. He thanked Iran, which previously informed about the attack on the American base al-Udeid in Qatar, after which he announced a ceasefire.
Daily later, at the NATO summit, Trump commented.
“Iran and Israel are exhausted. They are ready to go home. They are tired. They were boldly, but they no longer know why they fight.”
He also added that he would not bother him that Iran continued to sell oil China, although the United States previously introduced sanctions on such a trade.
“They need money to renew the Earth. If they sell oil, let them sell,” he concluded.
