Escalation of violence in Gaza, 30 killed in Israeli attacks

About 30 people were killed in new Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian media announced today.

Israeli warplanes attacked a former school building in the al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City, which houses displaced people, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

At least eight people died in the attack, WAFA reports.

The Israeli military said it carried out a “precision strike against Hamas terrorists operating inside a command and control center in the Daraj Tufah area.” The attack was carried out during the night, according to military sources.

WAFA also reported a targeted airstrike on a vehicle in Gaza City that killed four Palestinians.

Another 16 people were killed in attacks in the center and south of the Gaza Strip, they said.

WAFA reported that Israeli forces continue to demolish residential buildings in the northern area of ​​the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, adding that shelling across the entire region continues unabated.

Later on Sunday, a member of the Palestinian security forces was killed and two others were injured during an operation against armed Palestinians in Jenin in the northern West Bank, a spokesman for the Palestinian Authority (PA) said.

Armed men opened fire on security forces in the refugee camp, he claimed.
