The honor of broadcasting the matches of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team at the World Cup went to Saudin Gabela, commentator of Arena Sport BiH.
One of the most recognizable commentary voices of the new generation admitted in an interview with Vijesti.ba that he had never broadcast the A national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina before and that this will be the crowning glory of his commentary career.
“I have done some big matches so far, but this is the first time I do BiH. I will quote Edin Avdić: Representation is an obligation. It is an honor and an obligation. This is the crowning glory of a careerthe World Cup, my national team, my homeland… What more do you want? After this, I can comfortably hang the microphone on the peg, I don’t have to do anything else”, said Gabela, then continued:
“We started planning this even before the playoffs, we even made some pre-reservations and it turned out that it was worth it. I don’t have special rituals, I prepare like for any other game, but the heart is especially important here. You can’t do without it”.
Gabela specifically commented on Arena Sport’s decision to broadcast the matches of our national team on Arena Sport 1, instead of on Arena 1 Premium.
“It is a channel that is available on all cable operators and is open to everyone. In this way, we decided to bring the World Cup and BiH matches closer to all people in our country, but also to our people around the world, and I am proud of that fact,” said Gabela.
The Arena Sport commentator pointed out that he would be satisfied with the passage of the group, which in his opinion is not too difficult, and that he hopes for a place in the quarterfinals.
National team broadcasts are an ideal opportunity for our national team members to get nicknames, such as Diamond, Blue-eyed Bomber, etc. We joked that Kerim Alajbegović and Esmir Bajraktarević still don’t have nicknames, so will Gabela be the one to give them them?
“I didn’t plan anything, if something happens, it will be spontaneous. All those nicknames so far are unique and special, I don’t want to copy anyone, and if a nickname ‘pops out’: don’t hold it against me and let them accept it,” concluded Saudi Gabela’s interview with Vijesti.ba.
