The young stopper has attracted a lot of attention from European clubs, and the interest in his services is becoming more and more serious every day.
After the Italian giants Juventus, Inter and Milan, as well as the English Bournemouth and Newcastle inquired about Muharemović, the German Bundesliga club RB Leipzig has now joined the race. According to the Italian Tuttomercat, the leaders of the club from Leipzig are ready to offer around 25 million euros, with additional bonuses, for the Sassuolo left defender.
RB Leipzig sees in Muharemović the ideal solution for the future of the back line, given that they are looking for a young, reliable stopper who plays with his left foot. However, they are aware that the negotiations will not be easy, because Sassuolo has no imperative to sell during the winter.
The executive director of the Italian club, Giovanni Carnevali, has repeatedly emphasized that Sassuolo wants to keep the backbone of the team and further improve it. As he pointed out, Muharemović currently does not have a fixed price, and any negotiations depend solely on the seriousness and strength of the interested club. He also confirmed that Inter and Bologna have shown interest.
Muharemović, born in 2003, is a standard member of Sassuolo’s first team this season. In the current part of Serie A, he made 15 appearances and scored two goals, both in December, which further drew the attention of scouts across Europe. Tonight he will have a special motive, because Sassuolo is playing against Juventus, the club he used to play for.
Tarik Muharemović’s football career began in Austria, in the youth selections of A. Karnet, after which he played for A. Klagenfurt and AKA WAC. From the Wolfsberger youth system, he reached the first team, and in 2021 he moved to Juventus, where he played for the U19 selection and Juve Next Gen. After his loan to Sassuolo, the Italian club bought him in January 2025.
If the transfer worth 25 million euros is realized, Muharemović could become one of the most expensive Bosnian footballers in history, and his next step in his career could be one of the most famous winter transfers in Europe.
