“Innovations are today the basis of any modern and developed economy,” prof. dr. Munib Karavdić in today’s lecture “Innovation driving power: the key to economic stability and development” held in the premises of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Professor Karavdić, the leading authority in the field of innovation and transformation of complex organizations, spoke on how innovation may be the foundation of the sustainable economy, the creation of new jobs and an educated society. It is a riser of the international recognition, including the Award Design Australia and Design Management Institute (USA). As the founder and director of the company Wave Design, and a professor at AGSM / UNSW in Australia, active mentoring future leaders in the field of innovation. He is a member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina and advocates a stronger connection of the scientific diaspora with the domestic academic community.
Speaking of the importance of innovation, prof. dr. Karavdic emphasized that “innovations make new products and services, and open new jobs, create competitive companies, and thus states become more competitive.” In the continuation of the lecture, he also referred to the examples of countries that were achieved a large economic step forward through strategic investments in education, creativity and digitization of institutions.
“One of the countries I would like to point out is Estonia. It is even less than BiH, and decided to focus on the world’s leading digital economy. Their education system went in that direction, and many companies that have developed in other markets, have a huge base Engineer right from Estonia. “
The special focus was also in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its potential to start the team.

The lecture was organized with the aim of encouraging public discussion on the role of innovation in the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and inspire changes that lead to economic stability and development.
