The Ministry of Veterans Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, the Union of War Invalids of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and the Health Insurance Institute of the Zenica-Doboj Canton reached a joint agreement on improving the standards and quality of orthopedic aids for war invalids in our canton, as well as procedures for the procurement of aids.
The government of the Zenica-Doboj canton has already managed to respond to two demands of the Association of war disabled veterans, which concern the provision of advantages when using the services of public institutions and the provision of two parking spaces in front of the government building.
This agreement is the result of several months of consultations and partnership dialogue between all relevant institutions and representatives of rights beneficiaries. The reached agreement refers to higher quality standards of orthopedic aids in the sense of amending the Decision on determining the Price List of orthopedic and other aids, as well as amending the parliamentary decisions of the Ministry and the Institute in the part of simplifying the procedures for the procurement of orthopedic aids.
Simpler, more transparent and more efficient procurement procedures were agreed upon, with the aim of faster realization of rights and reduction of administrative barriers for users.
The Ministry of Veteran Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton undertook the obligation to provide additional institutional and financial support, in order to provide users with orthopedic aids of a higher standard at the time of enlistment.
This agreement represents an important step towards the improvement of the overall care of disabled war veterans, as one of the most sensitive and deserving categories of society.
The Ministry of Veterans Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, the Association of War Invalids of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and the Health Insurance Institute of the Zenica-Doboj Canton concluded that on Monday, December 15, 2025. year, hold a meeting where they will continue to agree on common goals to further improve services and strengthen user rights.
