Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz received a trophy in Turin for the player who ends the year at the top of the ATP list. He confirmed his leadership position on Thursday, after achieving three victories in the group stage of the final Masters.
Alcaraz said that the award is a great honor and the result of many years of work.
– I am very pleased to be the number one player in the world again. It’s something I’ve worked really hard for, with my team every day. That’s the goal, to be honest, but I think it’s a journey you don’t go through alone. There is your whole team, your family, close people who always support you, in difficult and good moments – said the Spanish tennis player.
This is the second time that the 22-year-old Alcaraz has finished the season at the top of the ATP rankings. He succeeded for the first time in 2022, when, as a nineteen-year-old, he became the youngest tennis player in history to end the year as number one.
– I have this trophy again, the first since 2022 and I have the same team. I’m proud of the team I have. This is a great achievement for me. To be honest, it means everything in the world to me and I’m really proud and happy – added Alcaraz.
