In the 12th round of Wwin League BiH, Zrinjski achieved an important victory over Borce, a 2:1 triumph at the Pod Bijelim Brijegom stadium. The current champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina thus further complicated the fight for the top of the table, reaching only one point behind the leader of the championship.
The nobles opened the match brilliantly and took the lead in the 3rd minute. After a precise pass from Ćuže, Šakota escaped the defense of Banja Luka and scored for 1:0. Just a few minutes later, Zrinjski had another chance, but goalkeeper Jurkas brilliantly saved Savić’s shot.
The fighter woke up in the middle of the first part and in the 33rd minute equalized the score. Hrelja masterfully played past Juričić, and the visitors’ striker scored routinely to make it 1:1, scoring his tenth goal of the season.
In the continuation of the meeting, Zrinjski took the initiative again. Already in the 47th minute, after the penetration of Vranjković and the pass to Bilbia, the home striker scored from close range to make it 2:1. The fighter continued to try to reach a settlement, but the defense and goalkeeper Karačić withstood all the attacks.
In the very end, in the 91st minute, Borac had a chance to equalize, but Karačić again reacted brilliantly and saved the net, bringing his team a valuable victory.
With this victory, Zrinjski came closer to the top of the table and showed that he is a serious candidate for the title. Mostar now have only one point less than Borc, while both teams have one game less, including the mutual duel from the first part of the championship, which has not yet been played due to the appearance of the clubs in Europe.
