Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on US President Donald Trump’s claims about their first meeting with Vladimir Putin.
“We are realistic. We sincerely want to enter NATO. In my opinion, that is fair. But we know that neither the United States nor several other countries, frankly speaking, currently do not see Ukraine in NATO.
And Russia will certainly never accept us there. Today, when it comes to Crimea, we do not have the strength to return our Ukrainian peninsula. I may have said that on our first date and I think I was right. I’ll be honest: yes, we don’t have the strength for all that today.
We don’t have enough support for that. But I said that on our first date. And I will repeat it at our last meeting with Putin,” Zelensky said.
