“Twenty points for ending the war is a fundamental document, we are actively working on key steps, and these must be feasible steps. We are developing at least two more documents from this document, the first of which is a security document, on security guarantees for Ukraine with the USA, as well as an economic one – on reconstruction and joint investments,” said Zelensky in a video address, reports Ukrinform.
Zelenski added that the principles of the economic document were discussed today with American representatives in a meeting in video format, as well as that Europe will be involved in the reconstruction of Ukraine, reports Tanjug.
He also said that Ukraine is preparing for tomorrow’s meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, stating that more than 30 countries cooperate with Kiev on security on land, in the air and at sea.
Zelenski also said that he had spoken with representatives of the Ukrainian parliament, the Rada, about the possibility of holding elections under the conditions of a state of emergency.
“Today I spoke with the representatives of the Supreme Rada of Ukraine. We spoke essentially. I will not allow any speculation against Ukraine, if the partners, including our key partner in Washington, talk so much and so concretely about the elections in Ukraine, about the elections within the legal regime of the state of emergency, then we must give Ukrainian legal answers to every question and every doubt,” said Zelensky.
He added that it is not easy for Ukraine, but that it “certainly does not need pressure on this matter”, and that he expects “that the People’s Deputies of Ukraine will offer their vision”.
He emphasized that security issues during the elections depend primarily on the United States of America, and that Ukraine, for its part, must resolve political and legal aspects.
“Security challenges depend on partners, above all on America, political and legal challenges must receive answers from Ukraine. And that will happen,” said Zelensky.
A day earlier, Zelenski said that he was ready to hold elections, but emphasized that their legitimacy and the possibility of holding them depended on security and changes in legislation.
