ZDK Minister of Health dr Aida Salčinović attended today the conference “Together for better food and a better future”, which was held in Zenica, organized by the Agency for Food Safety of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Institute for Health and Food Safety Zenica, on the occasion of celebrating World Food Day.
The conference brought together representatives of relevant institutions, international organizations, the academic community and the business sector, with the aim of exchanging experiences and improving the food safety system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In her address to the audience, Minister Salčinović pointed out that the Ministry of Health of the Zenica-Doboj Canton continuously supports activities that contribute to the strengthening of public health standards, laboratory infrastructure and cooperation between institutions, manufacturers and the professional community.
– The significance of today’s conference is reflected in its interdisciplinary approach and the gathering of key actors of the safe chain ‘from farm to table’. The Ministry of Health ZDK appreciates the work of the Institute, the inspection services and the academic community, as well as the commitment of our producers to meet quality requirements. We are convinced that the conclusions of the conference will contribute to food safety, the visibility of domestic products and the development of the economy of our canton – said Salčinović.
With this presence, the minister once again confirmed the commitment of the Ministry of Health of the ZDK to improving the food safety system, strengthening laboratory capacities and supporting partnerships that connect science, practice and public health.
World Food Day is celebrated every year on October 16, to commemorate the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). This year’s theme is dedicated to transforming food systems for a more resilient, fairer and healthier future, with the message that “no person should be hungry or excluded from access to safe and quality food”.
