In all primary schools and high schools in Zenica-Doboj Canton, the application of new curricula has started in accordance with the joint core of curricula in BiH, and based on learning outcomes.
The NPP drafting process lasted four years, and included the Pilot phase that coordinated the OSCE Mission to BiH, with the active role of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Pedagogical Institute and Education Union.
– It is important for us that students stay in good conditions and have free textbooks, but it is equally important and what will learn. The new curriculum should be the answer to the labor market requirements, but also to the educational needs of children. I believe that these programs will give positive results, and we will follow their application and adapt them in accordance with the needs – he said at the press conference Prime Minister Nezir Pivić.
With the introduction of new curricula, Zenica-Doboj Canton became the first canton in the Federation of BiH, which fully completed curricular reform for primary schools and high schools.
-Thember plans and programs are live matter and that is why we had an experimental phase in the past four years to adapt to the labor market. There are more and less students interested in high schools, and are increasingly elected by professional schools that offer faster training and practical knowledge needed for the market – said the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Mirza Mushi.
He added that he provided great support in this process to the OSCE Mission, emphasizing the importance and educational component that is as important as knowledge.
The Head of the Human Dimension in the OSCE Mission in BiH is congratulated by the Government of the Reform and Education Workers, saying that this process is a significant step forward in the improvement of the quality and inclusiveness in the CCC.
– Students are now in the center of the teaching process, and the success of reform depends on the dedication of teachers and school principals. The OSCE Mission remains a reliable partner in providing support to this important process – the LPIS has emphasized.
The President of the Independent Union of Primary Education and Education of FBiH Selvedin Tartorović emphasized that the reform was necessary because the previous programs were outdated. The goal was, he added, to make modern plans that will bring better learning outcomes and the results of our students.
– Teaching plans and programs are a living, and they will change according to the needs, but it is important that we did not want to turn teachers into administratives, but enable them to support the Ministry in everyday work – said Satorovic.
The press conference was pointed out that the curricula of medium vocational schools are significantly more flexible and they continuously pass, because they seek to monitor the needs of the labor market and in accordance with new occupations.
