At the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Zenica-Doboj Canton, the Ministry of Finance of the CANC was organized with the representatives of the Canton, with the aim of introducing the possibility of card payments on the spot through POS terminal. This method of collection will be in the first phase available to foreign citizens, while in the coming period, expansion is planned for domestic citizens.
– Foreign citizens after 16 hours, when banks and post office stops, they did not have the opportunity to pay the sentence. With the introduction of POS terminals, we will enable them to pay the sentence immediately, on the spot, without the need for additional procedures – the Minister of the Interior Emir Vraco said.
Card payment will, in addition to increasing efficiency, contribute to reducing the risk of corruption, as the system records any action of the police officer during the control.
The Interior Ministry already uses the advanced Information System of Renat, which enabled faster and efficient processing data on drivers and vehicles, without the need to communicate with duty services. Thanks to this system, in the last seven days, 427 misdemeanor orders were issued, of which 95% are foreign nationals.
– The Renata system and the new POS terminals allow complete control and records – it is known exactly what a police officer has worked, which inquiry has sent, what the camera recorded. It is an important step towards more transparent and efficient work – Minister Vraco pointed out.
The Ministry of Finance ZDK is the technical holder of the project to introduce card payments and cooperates with ASA Bank on finding the most efficient solutions.
– Our goal is to ensure the easier and faster method of collection through POS terminals. We work on technical details to make the system reliable and ready for wider implementation – said Financial Minister Jenna Ciši.
