The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Zenica-Doboj Canton of the Martian Switzerland in Bosnia and Herzegovina Anna Goss signed in Zenica Memorandum on the continuation of joint ventures in green energy transition projects.
Goss explained that these are projects based on the four focus routes of the Caritas Switzerland – both globally, and in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the pleasure of actively participating in the projects, which is a key factor in their implementation.
– Four main components of the project are: energy efficiency of schools, with the aim of making them energy independent; then improving the internal quality of air; Addressing the problem of energy poverty, which is increasingly present in our society and the reason for initiating energy transition; and education of teaching staff forming young people in the field of energy efficiency – said Goss.
Minister Mushi pointed out that long-term cooperation with Caritas Switzerland, which began in 2016. years, has already made significant results in schools across the Zenica-Doboj Canton, and in the education of teaching staff.
– We jointly invest 310,000 KM in this year’s projects, including the rehabilitation of 18 school buildings, the construction of the Teachers, and the introduction of a new tender panel “we have implemented a series of useful and concrete activities that have been implemented very successfully and transparently – said Minister Mushy.
He added that the project aims to change awareness, as well as the preparation of the educational sector for the necessary reforms that Bosnia and Herzegovina must implement in the field of energy efficiency.
According to him, the funds of 310,000 KM will be implemented over the next year through projects in three schools – one in Difficulty, one in the lower Kakanj, and through the installation of solar panels at the high school.
In the past eight years, Zenica-Doboj Canton, together with Caritas Switzerland, invested about 1,500,000 KM in energy efficiency projects, of which the ZDK has secured about 700,000 KM. With new investments, the total value of joint projects will reach about 1.8 million KM, and to the end of the project, planned for mid 2028. Year, it is estimated that total investments could exceed 2 million KM.
