The Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that taxpayers paid a total of 3,670,877,602 KM in public revenue in the period from January to May 2026.
Compared to the same period in 2024, the collection of public revenues increased by 361.4 million KM, i.e. by 10.92 percent, while compared to the first five months of last year, a slight decrease of 1.57 percent was recorded.
Sarajevo Canton still has the largest share in the total collection with 1.35 billion KM or 36.9 percent of the total revenue collected. They are followed by the Tuzla Canton with 617.6 million KM and the Zenica-Doboj Canton with 471.5 million KM.
The Zenica-Doboj Canton achieved an increase in collection compared to the same period in 2024 by more than 51.5 million KM, i.e. 12.27 percent.
When it comes to the structure of income, the largest part refers to contributions, of which 2.45 billion KM were collected. Income from direct taxes amounted to 854.9 million KM.
In particular, the growth of income from income tax was recorded, which reached 431.3 million KM, which represents an increase of almost 35 percent compared to the same period in 2024. Growth was also recorded in real estate sales tax and rights, as well as unemployment insurance contributions.
According to the data of the Tax Administration of FBiH, as of May 31, 2026, 136,562 active business entities, including business units and branches, were registered in the Federation of BiH. Compared to the same date last year, the number of active business entities increased by 2,969.
The Tax Administration points out that the achieved results confirm the stability of public revenues and the continuous growth of economic activity in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
