The Penitentiary Institution in Sarajevo realized the funds planned in the budget for last year, during which 3 million KM were invested in construction works in the complex of the Detention Unit on Igman.
According to director Munib Isaković, the deadlines were slightly extended due to snowfall, but the works continued.
– Asphalting has been completed, the final phase of paving inside the complex is underway, and already during the next week we will take over the work on facility B with a capacity of 55 detainees. A water pool was built, electricity was connected in the complex, and furniture for the administration building was purchased. The connection of the heat pump imported from Italy will also be completed and it will heat the administration building and the main facility. Therefore, we plan for the administration building and facility B to be completed by the end of the month and we will proceed with the request for the issuance of a use permit – Isaković told us.
Slightly more than one million KM will be set aside this year, in order to complete the computerization and digitalization of the entire complex, to acquire kitchens and equipment for the maintenance of the main facility, it says. Avaz.
– As soon as the budget is adopted, we will start announcing public procurements and I think we will have a complete complex by the middle of this year. We are at the disposal of all institutions to make sure that we have spent each stamp legally and transparently. The only problem we had was with the procurement of equipment and beds for the cells, because the Appeals Review Office overturned our decision in the amount of 60,000 KM, so now we have decided to choose another company based on the decision of the Office – adds Isaković.
