Although the Miners arrived as underdogs, they did not seem scared. Already in the first few minutes, Andreas Mohedano tested the defense of Velež and announced that the visitors would not just stop.
After that attempt, the pace dropped significantly until the 17th minute, when Tarik Ramić tried a shot from a long distance, but Karić was up to the task.
The first serious opportunity for Velež came when Vasilije Đurić shot from twenty meters, but Dubljanić intervened in time. Edo Vehabović also had an opportunity that the home crowd already saw in the net near the end of the first half, but he caught the ball badly and missed an excellent chance.
Mohedano again drew attention to himself in the 40th minute with a powerful shot from a distance, but Karić reacted safely again. Since there were no new opportunities until the break, we went to the break without scoring.
The continuation of the game was much more lively, and Velež took control and began to create pressure that gradually led to the goal. In the 55th minute, Rudar tried to threaten through Nedim Keranović, but without danger for Karić’s goal.
The decisive moment happened in the 66th minute. Vehabović made an excellent cross, and Selmir Pidro did his best in the penalty area and checked Dubljanić from close range to give Mostar the lead.
Velež continued to attack – already in the 72nd minute Nukić hit the crossbar after a corner, while a few minutes later Mešić sent a powerful but inaccurate shot.
In the very end, Hrkać tried to surprise the guests, but there was no change in the result. Velež thus won three points with a minimal victory and made its way to third place behind the leader Borec and the second-placed Zrinjski.
