Today, the bodies of two French alpinists were found on the Mount Blanc massif. The local Gorse Rescue Service said that the unfortunate alpinists “probably fell.”
The French Agency AFP writes that it is a 25-year-old girl and a 56-year-old man. The search for two alpinists began yesterday after their worried family raised the alert.
Their bodies were found at the foot of Aiguille de Bionnassay, above sea level of 4052 meters, on the alternative access route Mount Blanca, which is “technically quite demanding, and requires a lot of experience,” the rescue service.
An investigation has been launched to determine the causes of the accident. It is assumed that the victims, who did not live in the area, fell from the Ice Short Reef.
