Traditionally, American presidents who serve the second term, such as Trump, not offered a state visit. Instead, they were invited to tea or lunch with a monarch, as it happened to the former presidents of Barack Obama and George W. Bush.
However, in February, the British Prime Minister Keir Starmer presented Trump’s Call of Charles III. During the meeting in the White House to discuss the Trade Agreement between the United Kingdom and the United States. Keir said the call is “Really historical” and “unprecedented”.
Trump stated that it is “great, great honor.”
Donald and Melania Trump will arrive on Tuesday, 16. September to the UK, where he will stay until 18. September. The King Charles will host the president and the first lady in the Windsor Castle on Wednesday and Thursday.
The journey comes two months after the US president spent four days in Scotland, where he met politicians and visited his golf courses.
