Newly elected US President Donald Trump has ordered the release of documents related to the three most significant assassinations in US history – the murders of John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. – declassify.
“A lot of people have been waiting for this for a long time, for decades,” Trump said. “All will be revealed.”
The president requested that the pen he used to sign the order be given to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Robert F. Kennedy’s son, John F. Kennedy’s cousin and Trump’s nominee for health secretary.
President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963, while his brother Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1968 while running for president, two months after King, America’s most famous civil rights activist, was assassinated in Memphis.
Many documents related to the investigations have been released over the years, although thousands of them still remain redacted, especially those related to JFK.
