Two countries are trying to negotiate to end the customs war that disrupted global trade and supply chains.
Donald Trump announced the introduction of customs to almost all products imported to the United States, claiming that it will encourage domestic production that critics warn that this will lead to the increase in numerous consumer products for American citizens.
Trump called for a universal basic customs duties of 10 percent to goods from all countries, with even higher rates for imports from the “most problematic”, including China. Currently, Chinese goods are imported into the United States facing the highest customs – and up to 55 percent.
Trump set up a deadline until 12. Augusta to achieve a permanent trade agreement between the United States and China.

The last high-level meeting between the two countries was held on 11. July, and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi described him as a productive and positive meeting in Malaysia, who focused on continuing trade negotiations.
Rubio confirmed that Trump received the call to visit China and that both leaders “want the meeting to be held.”
On Friday, the Chinese Minister of Wang Wentao stated that China wants to stabilize trade relations with the United States and that recent talks with European partners showed that there is no need for customs war.
