Member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Federation of Pensioners of FBiH, Mustafa Trakić, tells Faktor that it is good that the Government of the Federation of BiH withdrew from the parliamentary procedure the decision on temporary financing of the Federation of BiH, because by the end of the week the Government is expected to adopt the budget proposal for this year and send it to the Parliament FBiH.
– Let the decision on the temporary financing of FBiH be withdrawn. The decision on mass protests by pensioners has not been repealed. So it is in force and we are waiting to see what the Federal Government will do. We hope for a 4.6 percent increase in pensions on account from January – Trakić said.
At the recently held press conference, the Prime Minister of the Federation, Nermin Nikšić, spoke about the payment of pensions this year.
– In accordance with the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance, we have a regular adjustment of pensions to come. It will be some minimal increase, but it will be in accordance with the law. The problem of extraordinary adjustment lies in the fact that last year we paid 511 million KM more from the budget for pensions than was collected in the PIO Fund – said Nikšić.
Trakić reflected on this statement by Nikšić.
– They confirmed earlier from PIO that pensions based on special seniority are paid from taxes, not from contributions, and in that regard they need to come to us 500 million KM, from large and small privatization, pensions based on special seniority. He is defending himself and the government he represents. As for the amendments to the Law on PIO, articles 79 and 80 and 140 and 147, 80 percent of it has been agreed – Trakić told us.
At the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, a working group was formed for changes to the Law on PIO. Pensioners demand that future pensions be increased based on the growth of the average salary in the FBiH and the consumer basket, and not, as is the case now, based on the growth of the gross domestic product and the consumer price index, writes Factor.
