Travelers who plan to visit the United States will soon have to stand out more money, because at the end of September, increased visa fees and entering the country. This change will most guess visitors from partner countries, including most European countries, writes CNN.
The largest increase in price is on the electronic travel authorization system (ESTA), which use citizens more than 40 countries involved in the visa exemption program (VISA WAIVER program). Among these countries are the United Kingdom and most European countries, including Croatia. Fee for ESTA, which has so far amounted to $ 21, from 30. September will almost double and amount to $ 40.
This is not the only increase. Passengers entering the United States in the main road will also have to pay a significantly higher fee for I-94 arrival / departure records. The current six dollar fee is growing at $ 30. In addition, the passengers from China will need to pay $ 30 to enroll in an electronic visa update system (Electronic Visa Update System).
These price increases come at the time when the number of international visits to the United States declines significantly. The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) estimated that in 2025. It would lose 12.5 billion dollars from the consumption of foreign tourists, which would make this country analyzed states with the planned fall.
With the mentioned increases, a new “visa integrity fee” from $ 250 is being prepared for passengers from countries that are not part of the visa exemption program.
