Thousands of residents of several suburban settlements in Teslić have been without water for days.
Settlements affected by water supply problems are Đulići, Rankovići, Donjani, Barići, Radešići, Gomjenica and Memića Brdo.
According to the locals, the following areas were completely without water: Ružević, Radnja, Osivica, Dijelovi Ukrinica
Water supply completely suspended
Locals claim that the situation culminated five days ago, when water supply was completely stopped in some parts.
“Inhabitants of suburban settlements have been dealing with reductions, interruptions and disappearances of water for a long time, and three or four days ago, depending on the settlement, the supply was completely suspended. The elderly, the sick, children and people with disabilities were left without water. Life in these conditions, especially during the summer heat, has become unbearable and threatens the hygienic-epidemiological situation,” said a resident of Teslić.
Citizens are looking for information
As he points out, the competent utility company PKD “Rad” Teslić, as well as the city services, have not yet offered an adequate solution, despite earlier announcements and promises during the opening of the Water Factory in Studenci.
“No one answers the phone number provided for reporting breakdowns and interruptions in water supply, and when citizens manage to reach someone, they do not receive concrete information about when the problem will be solved,” they said.
According to him, a similar situation happened a few months ago, when water tankers were distributed around the city due to a shortage of water.
“Similar scenes happened a few months ago, when the city area was included, so water tanks were distributed around the city, and when the journalist crews came to film the tanks around the city, the surrounding settlements were immediately shut off and water was released in the city zone in order to avoid sending a true picture of the water supply in the city of Teslić”, claims a local.
Several settlements were affected by the problems
According to him, the settlements of Đulić, Ranković, Donjani, Barići, Radešići, Gomjenica and Memić Brdo are affected by water supply problems, while Ružević, Radnja, Osivica and parts of Ukrinica are completely disconnected from the water supply network.
“The locals appeal to the authorities to solve the problem as soon as possible, stressing that it is a basic necessity without which daily life has become almost impossible,” he concluded.
Increased consumption and breakdowns
PKD “Rad” ad Teslić points out that water supply in the area of the city of Teslić has been difficult in the last period due to increased consumption and frequent breakdowns in the water supply network.
“The company’s teams are continuously on the ground and work on fixing faults, as well as stabilizing the water supply system. Faults occur when old pipes burst in certain parts of the old network due to sudden pressure changes in the system, and these faults are fixed with increased dynamics”, they told “Nezavisne”.
The utility company “Rad” ad Teslić does not supply the municipality of Stanari with drinking water.
