Organizers of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics on Tuesday named six stadiums across the United States to host matches in the men’s and women’s Olympic soccer tournaments, expanding the competition well beyond Southern California.
The organizing committee of LA28 decided that it will group stage and knockout stage matches play in New York, Columbus, Nashville, St. Louis, San Jose and San Diego.
Venues range from the New York City Football Club’s under-construction stadium scheduled for completion in 2027 to existing Major League Soccer venues in Ohio, Tennessee, Missouri and Northern California.

Matches final stagesincluding the men’s and women’s soccer gold medal games, will be played at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena. The men’s final is scheduled for July 28, 2028, and the women’s final for July 29, 2028, the organizers said.
LA28 announced that the tournament schedule was designed so that the matches simultaneously held from the east coast to the west coast in an effort to limit travel and support athlete welfare while offering fans a more geographically inclusive Games experience.
The organizers are also marked a turning point in Olympic football, saying that for the first time more women’s teams (16) than men’s teams (12) will compete.
LA28 stated that they aim to set the benchmark for the first Olympic Games where all team sports will have at least as many women’s teams as men’s.

The full fixture list for both tournaments, including dates and venues for each match, will be announced before tickets go on sale in April, LA28 added.
