The President of the WJC Ronald Lauder especially criticized the way the plan was announced, emphasizing the Smotrich’s statement that this move “kills the idea of the Palestinian State” as unacceptable.
“These are an uncondent statements for Israeli politicians,” Lauder emphasized, adding that Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Guir belongs to the “extremist” whose messages are caused by serious damage to Israel.
Lauder pointed out that the two extremely right ministers do not represent the majority of Jews around the world, which, according to him, are considered unworthy public functions.
In his message, he invited Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to clearly distant his government from such views.
Recall, SMOTRICH announced the construction of new settlements on the territory of the West Coast, which is under the control of Palestinian self-government and which is considered a key part of the future Palestinian state.
