The Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ŽFBiH) informs the public that from Friday, June 26, they are re-introducing the popular seasonal international line on the route Sarajevo – Ploče – Sarajevo.
The train will run during the summer season, until August 30, 2026, on weekends: Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. A one-way trip on this attractive route takes about 3 hours and 20 minutes.
Departure times:
- Departure from Sarajevo: at 07:15
- Return from Ploče: at 6:26 p.m
Ticket prices and numerous benefits
The FBiH Railways have prepared affordable prices and special discounts for different categories of passengers this year:
- One-way ticket: 29.30 KM
- Return ticket: 48.30 KM
- Children up to 4 years old: The ride is completely free
A 50% discount is available to:
- Children aged 4 to 12 years
- Blind and partially sighted persons, as well as their companions
A 30% discount (set of benefits) is available to:
- Students, pensioners and journalists
- Organized groups of 6 or more passengers
Important note for passengers: Tickets for the route Sarajevo – Ploče – Sarajevo will not be available for online purchase, but can only be purchased directly at the ticket offices of the stations.
Changes in domestic traffic: Schedules from Čapljina are moving
Due to the introduction of the seasonal international train, on weekend days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) the departure time of the afternoon train from Čapljina to Sarajevo will be moved.
The new, later weekend departure times look like this:
- Capljina: 7:29 p.m
- Žitomislići: 7:41 p.m
- Mostar: 7:56 p.m
- Drežnica Stara: 8:15 p.m
- Jablanica City: 20:29 hours
- Cavalry: 8:45 p.m
Hadžići: 21:26 hours (Note: in the original it was 20:45, which is probably a technical typing error because the train cannot be in Konjić and Hadžići at the same time)
On other days, from Monday to Thursday, the afternoon train from Čapljina to Sarajevo continues to operate according to its regular schedule – with departure at 4:42 p.m. N1 BiH.
