The Cantonal Administration of the civil protection of the Zenica-Doboj Canton organized a regular annual training for members of the Cantonal Civil Protection Staff (KŠCZ). The topic of the training was “Communication in crisis situations”, and the lecturer was Umihan Krličević Omerović, Owner of the Agency for Marketing and PR Convers.
The focus of the workshop was to communicate both within the KSCZ and the public, ie with higher levels of government and various institutions. The advantages, but also weaknesses, when it comes to communicating the KSCZ, above all, with the institutions that communicate with, but also with the public.
– Timely information towards the public, ie our citizens are very important in terms of protecting their lives and rescue material goods, because any misinformation or semi-ignition can create certain problems among the population. It may happen that due to the semi-ignition citizens leave their households, they did not need to be in homes, although there is a danger of a natural disaster, and that is due to a losing of life and the director of the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration (KCZ) and Head of the KSCZ.
He emphasizes that the creation of panic among citizens is very dangerous and is the Cantonal Staff of Civil Protection that in time it places accurate and reliable information to which our citizens will take all the necessary actions for saving life and material goods.
– We had the opportunity to see how information came from our citizens, how these information in the Operational Center are processed and how to market the KSCZ, adopted by certain decisions and orders to the lower level – said Alicic.
He added that the main goal of such trainings is additional to raise the competence of the KSCZ, and that such trainings are regularly organized for all rescue services operating in the KCZ composition.
