Football “A” national team members of Bosnia and Herzegovina gathered today in Ilidža and began preparations for the decisive World Cup qualification matches with Romania and Austria.
“Due to bad weather conditions that caused the pitch to be in poor condition at the Training Center of FK Sarajevo in Butmir, training was held in the hall of the Malak Hotel in Sarajevo,” announced the Football/Soccer Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
All invited players responded to coach Sergej Barbarez at the gathering, except for Adrian Leon Barišić, who will miss the national team’s November activities due to an injury.
Bosnia and Herzegovina will play against Romania on Saturday in Zenica, and on November 18 in Vienna they will be the guests of Austria. With two points won from the upcoming matches, the popularly called “Dragons” would qualify for the play-offs for the World Championship, which will be played next year in the United States, Canada and Mexico. If they “take” the maximum six, they would be first in group “H” and would directly qualify for the World Cup.
