The president of the Jahorina Basketball Club, Nedeljko Elek, has announced that he is resigning from the leadership position in the club, stressing that he is making the decision after many years of involvement, during which, as he states, a number of significant sporting successes were achieved.
In the press release, he reminds that he took over KK Jahorina while the club was competing in the Second League of Republika Srpska, and already a year later it won placement in the First League of Republika Srpska and won the Cup of Republika Srpska in 2024.
He also points out that Jahorina is on her home court for the first time hosted the Belgrade Crvena zvezda in a friendly match, while last season the club played in the ABA 2 League and the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Speaking about the support for the club, he thanked the general sponsor Olympic Center Jahorina, as well as the President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik and the mayors Boško Jugović and Dejan Kojić.
On the other hand, he stated that the club has received a total from the City of East Sarajevo in the last two years 22,500 KM support – 12,500 KM during 2024 and 10,000 KM during 2025. Exactly, as he claims, the unsatisfactory attitude of the city administration towards the club was one of the key reasons for his resignation.
Because of the relationship of the mayor according to the most successful sports collective in East Sarajevo, I have decided to resign from the position of club president, he ordered.
In the end, he expressed his belief that his successor will successfully continue to lead the club and achieve even better results.
