The Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina was given a one-month detention!

BiH Security Minister Nenad Nešić will spend a month in custody. This is the decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the case of “Tunel 2” in which he is the prime suspect.

Milan Dakić, director of Putev RS, and Mladen Lučić, director of the company “Legend”, were also detained.

Nešić, otherwise the leader of DNS, was hospitalized at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo after today’s hearing, so it is now unknown when and how he will be detained. According to unofficial information, Nešić has had problems with blood pressure for a long time.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is 28.12.2024. accepted the proposal of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina dated December 27, 2024 and issued a decision by which the suspects Nenad Nešić, Mladen Lučić and Milan Dakić were detained, which according to this decision can last for a maximum of one month, counting from the day of deprivation of liberty, i.e. until January 26. in 2025 or until a new decision of the Court, due to the existence of special reasons for detention from Article 132, paragraph 1, point b) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e. due to the fear that they will destroy, hide, change or falsify evidence and traces important for criminal proceedings, influence witnesses, accomplices or concealers.

The suspects are charged with the criminal offense of Association for the purpose of committing criminal offenses under Article 249, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CC BiH), Abuse of official position or authority under Article 315 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Srpska (CC RS) and Accepting a bribe from Article 39 of the CC RS.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, among other things, it was said at today’s hearing that after Nenad Nešić was appointed as the director of “Roads of the RS”, he received an offer to withdraw money in the described manner, through fictitious legal actions, in exchange for the return of 10 percent of the value of the total works. According to the prosecutor’s assessment, it is clear that the investigative actions confirmed the allegations from the testimony.

Prosecutor Bojana Jolović cited Pandurević’s statement that there were problems in transferring money from one account to another. Also referring to Pandurević’s testimony, the prosecutor stated that based on those fictitious legal actions, money was extracted and that Nešić was paid part of that money, that is 250,000 KM, annually during the director’s term of office.

The prosecutor, recounting Pandurević’s testimony, emphasized that the money that was withdrawn from the company was left in the office of Nenad Nešič, in cars in parking lots where there were unknown persons, in bars and other catering facilities.

Those arrested in this operation are suspected of having committed several crimes in the positions of managers in “Roads RS” and companies, including money laundering, abuse of official position and accepting bribes.

Since 2022, Nešić has held the position of Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and he was the director of “Roads RS” from 2016 to 2020.
