Reisul-ulema of the Islamic community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein-ef. Today, Kavazović sent a message to Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina, homeland countries and diaspora on the occasion of the upcoming Eid al-Fitr.

“Bismilahirrahmanirrahim!
Dear brothers and sisters, friends, respected neighbors and fellow citizens,
the day of standing on Arafat, which precedes tomorrow’s great joy of Eid, is the best day and the best time to approach the expanses of Allah’s mercy through worship.
In the days of Kurban Bayram, we return again and again to the great truth of faith: the greatest values cannot be preserved without sacrifice and renunciation. From the example of Ibrahim, peace be upon him, and his son Ismail, we learned that through sacrifice and giving, we can hope for good, which will return to us. Therefore, our life must not be captured by selfishness and indifference, nor by fear of uncertainty, but by gratitude, responsibility and concern for others.
And this Eid comes at a time that requires composure, wisdom and firmness from us. There is a lot of suffering in the world, injustice and calls to violence. There are many attempts to instill fear, division and mistrust among people. Therefore, let’s stay true to ourselves and our faith.
Peace, vigilance and patience are the values on which we have always built our being and guarded our homeland. Let’s continue to nurture them carefully. May our Bajram joy strengthen our unity and trust in these days and may it deepen the awareness among all of us in Bosnia and Herzegovina that peace, freedom and dignity are a legacy that is guarded every day.
To all Muslims in Bosnia Herzegovina and our Sandžak, in the homeland and in the Bosniak diaspora, I congratulate the coming days of Kurban Bayram. Spend it in joy and happiness, with dignity, as it befits us.
