The mayor of Prnjavor, Darko Tomaš, said tonight that he is taking responsibility for winter road cleaning because he believes that the city services did not organize this work in the best way in the past few days due to heavy snowfall, but that the responsibility for the power outage lies in “Elektrokrajina”.
“Every citizen can read on the ‘Elektrokrajine’ website what their responsibility, obligation and competence is. The problem with the power grid in the area of Prnjavor did not arise immediately, it has been current for 30 years and none of the political options that have been in power until now invested enough in the distribution network, which needs to be changed,” Tomaš told reporters.
The mayor of Prnjavor points out that he does not run away from his responsibility, but that he will not accept responsibility for the failures of others.
“Here, first of all, we need to determine what is the cause and what is the consequence, and if we act like that, we will all be better off. “It is clear whose responsibility it is, even though the opposition parties have set me up as a political target,” said Tomas.
He stated that he has always criticized everything that contradicts the interests of the citizens of Prnjavor and that he is ready to initiate court cases on their behalf and on behalf of the businessmen of this city for the compensation of the damages they suffer in such situations.
Tomaš reminded that, due to the seriousness of the situation, especially in rural areas where there is no electricity for days, “Elektrokrajina” was asked to send additional teams to Prnjavor, which they did, and thanked the Municipal Administration of Srbac and the town of Bosanska Gradiška, who teams were sent to Prnjavor yesterday and significantly contributed to stabilizing the situation.
The power outage caused a several-hour interruption in water supply in the city, which is why the utility company “Vodovod” Prnjavor was asked to initiate the procedure of procuring an alternative source of electricity from the spring “Povelič”.
“Through the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, we will provide the necessary funds to the company ‘Vodovod’, and it is up to them to assess what is an adequate alternative source, because neither I nor the councilors are expert enough to claim that it is an aggregate or something else. “, says Tomas.
He announced that in the coming days he will have meetings with representatives of local communities on this issue, as well as that, when accurate and concrete information arrives, a request will be made to hold a session of the City Assembly, and after that responsibility for the omissions will be determined, he writes. klix.
