Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba had a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday, local media reported.
In their first conversation since Ishiba took office in October, the two leaders exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and Japan’s support for Kiev.
As of March 2022, Japan has pledged and provided financial, humanitarian and other assistance to Ukraine totaling more than $12 billion, including $4.5 billion in aid for 2024 announced on June 13, Xinhua reported.
