The Government of FBiH established the criteria under which municipalities and cities can request an exemption from the non-working Sunday

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina passed a decree on the criteria for the application of the exemption article that refers to the so-called the law on the non-working week in the territory of FBiH.

The regulation regulates the procedure, criteria and conditions that must be met by local self-government units for the application of the provisions of Article 18, paragraph (10) and (11), which refer to the question of working hours of sales facilities in the FBiH.

The city/municipal council of the local self-government unit is authorized to submit the proposal, and it is submitted to the FBiH Government through the Federal Ministry of Trade.

If the Ministry, during the preliminary examination of the formal orderliness of the proposal, determines that the proposal was not submitted by an authorized body or that it does not meet other prescribed conditions, the proposal will be returned to the proposer with instructions to eliminate the deficiencies.

If the proposer does not eliminate the deficiencies or submit a new proposal within 30 days, the Ministry will reject it as incomplete.

The proposal requesting an exemption from non-working on Sundays must contain objective reasons and a detailed explanation, especially data on the impact on the decline in turnover in trade activities at the local community level, compared to the same period in 2023, the impact on the decline in the number of people employed in trade activities on at the level of the local community, in relation to the same period last year, justifications for proposals of a seasonal nature and the exemption period in the case of a request for a seasonal exemption.

If the Government rejects the proposal, the proposer has the right to submit a new proposal only after the expiration of a period of six months from the date of entry into force of the decision rejecting the proposal. Factor.

A few days ago, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina approved the proposal of the City of Orašje for exemption from the application of the Law on Internal Trade, that is, on non-working Sundays. This means that shops in the area of ​​Orašje will be able to work without interruption on the second day of the weekend.
