The Federal Institute of MIO/PIO issued a notice for pensioners residing abroad – A notice was issued for pensioners of the FZ MIO/PIO with residence outside the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
All pensioners of the Federal Institute for Pension and Disability Insurance (FZ MIO/PIO) who reside outside the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (with the exception of beneficiaries residing in the Republika Srpska entity and in the Republic of Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro and North Macedonia) are hereby informed that they are required to submit a certificate of life by the end of this year.
The life certificate form is available on the Institute’s website and can be downloaded here.
The completed and certified certificate must be sent by post to the address of the competent service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications: Dubrovačka bb, 88000 Mostar or Ložionička 2, 71000 Sarajevo
The certificate of life is certified by:
– holder of pension insurance abroad or in Bosnia and Herzegovina,
– the municipality of residence of the pension beneficiary,
– notary public,
– diplomatic representation of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
– pensioner’s home or hospital (if the pensioner is housed there).
Certificates that are not certified, incomplete or certified by other institutions (banks, associations of pensioners, personally, etc.) are considered invalid and will not be accepted.
Failure to provide proof of life leads to the suspension of pension payments.
Users from the entity Republika Srpska, as well as from the Republic of Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro and North Macedonia are no longer obliged to send a certificate of life.
The exception is users who have a deficiency in identification data, which is why the check cannot be performed electronically. They are still required to submit proof of life.
Pensioners residing in the Republic of Austria are still obliged to submit a certificate of life until the Agreement on the electronic exchange of data on the fact of death between FZ MIO/PIO and PVA is implemented, reports Bosnia Info.
