Margins on fuel in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be limited for the next 90 days, the FBiH Government decided at a session held in Sarajevo.
The decision was made on the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Trade, and it refers to the prescription of a direct price control measure by determining the maximum level of margins for non-added petroleum products.
According to the decision of the Government of FBiH, a maximum margin in the amount of 0.06 KM per liter is prescribed for companies engaged in wholesale trade in non-added oil derivatives. For retail trade in non-added oil derivatives, the maximum margin is 0.25 KM per liter.
Fuel margins limited to 90 days
The decision will be applied 90 days from the date of entry into force, and the federal and cantonal market inspection will be in charge of its implementation and supervision.
The Government of FBiH clarifies that the prescribed restrictions do not apply to the sale of additive petroleum derivatives, except in cases where only additive petroleum derivatives are traded in wholesale and retail facilities.
As stated in the explanation, the decision was made with the aim of mitigating the negative effects of disturbances on the energy market, preserving market stability and protecting the standard of living of the citizens of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Limited margins on fuel should enable more uniform application of regulations, easier inspection supervision and consumer protection in a period of increased pressure on the energy market.
