The Selimović family from Tuzla led civil proceedings against UKC Tuzla and doctors Alma Halilbašić and Mithad Hajder, whom they accuse of being responsible for the death of their wife and mother, Amira Selimović. After the Tuzla Cantonal Court returned the proceedings to the beginning, the expert examination was carried out again.
As stated by the Selimović family for N1, after the repeated expert examination by the expert team of court experts of UKC Banja Luka, dr. Haider Midhat et al. Halilbašić-Smajić Alma did nothing to save the life of Amira Selimović.
“Given that Amira Selimović, the mother of a 15-year-old child, was life-threatening (saturation 80%, heart rate 115, blood pressure low), she should have been urgently hospitalized, and not returned home, so that two hours later, at the age of 55, she would die, court experts found,” said her husband Senad Selimović.
Selimović stated that the experts determined that a series of mistakes and omissions were made due to the fact that his wife was treated by a resident while the doctor on duty was not even present.
“The doctor did not perform any tests in order to establish the diagnosis for which the patient was brought by ambulance to the admission clinic of the Internal Medicine Clinic of the University Hospital Tuzla. From that first medical error, other, numerous errors arose – according to the court experts. It is unjustified that the doctor on duty, Dr. Hajder Midhat, did not examine Amira Selimović either at the reception or at the dismissal, although he claimed in his statement that he was instructed by phone by dr. Alma in the “treatment” of Amira Selimović”, her husband Senad explained what the experts determined.
Also, Selimović points out that on the remaining 22 questions of Suad Srna, attorney for the plaintiff of the Selimović family, the team of court experts remained with their findings and opinion of 08/25/2023. year, where they also stated that a medical error had been committed.
We remind you that N1 never received answers from the Tuzla Police Department, while the Tuzla Canton Prosecutor’s Office is still investigating whether there is any criminal responsibility in this case.
