The prestigious competition ended with the announcement of the best individuals, and two taekwondo players from Bosnia and Herzegovina – Lucija Miličević and Adin Hodžić – once again climbed to the podium. The representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the -68 kg and -73 kg categories won bronze medals, thus joining Ajla Makaš and Zlatko Hrnjić, who previously won medals of the same glory.
The MVP awards in the junior competition went to Frenchwoman Fatima Mendy (-59kg) and Alexios Nikolaidis from Greece (-63kg). In addition to Nikolaidis’ gold in the category up to 63 kilograms, the Greek national team today won another gold and three silvers, while the taekwondo players from Serbia won two golds, one silver and two bronzes on the fourth day.
Despite numerous challenges, the Federation of FBiH Taekwondo proved to be an excellent technical organization this time as well.
– Although major European and world competitions were held before this Grand Prix, we are very satisfied with the way we organized this kind of event for the first time. With the praise we received from the leadership of the European Taekwondo Union led by President Sakis Pragalos and the experience gained, I am confident that next year we will raise the organization to an even higher level – said Samir Šarić, president of TKDS FBiH who will be the technical organizer of the Grand Prix for the next two years.
It is important to emphasize that this year, for the first time, cash prizes were awarded for the best in the junior and cadet competitions, announced the Taekwondo Federation of FBiH.
