Today (Wednesday) at 11:30 a.m. at the Branko Čavlović Čavlek Stadium in Karlovac, the Croatian under-19 football team begins the qualification cycle for the European Championship with a match against Georgia.

The competition in this group lasts until November 18when two matches are scheduled at the same time, from 11:30: Gibraltar – Georgia in Lučki i Croatia – Serbia at the Rudeša stadium in Zagreb.
The timing is of course inconvenient, but UEFA’s schedule could not be influenced: the match between Croatia and Serbia will be played on a national holiday, on the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Homeland War and the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Vukovar and Škabrnja. The match will be played without spectators, writes Večernji list.
Taking into account the events of the last few days in Croatia, the MUP, HNS and UEFA agreed that due to the high security risk, the match between Croatia and Serbia a game without spectators. This is of course a precedent in competitions of young categories, but obviously also a necessary safety measure; The Croatian Football Association is the host of the tournament and must not allow itself any lapse, especially not a security one. Otherwise, the two first-placed national teams from this group will be placed in the so-called Elite round of qualifications.
